So intelligent and capable; he really did have it all. I just learned tonight of Justin's death and offer my condolences for your loss. As others have so aptly noted, Justin was a kind and caring soul. It has been many years since I saw him; however, he opened his home to me and insisted I make myself at home, both in Europe and Texas Sirie and Justin simply enjoy people. I worked in the CBPO at Camp New Amsterdam, The Netherlands with Sirie, and knew the Blankenship family through her. Every time I see a Saab, I think of her and the new one they purchased in Holland. As well, even if at no other time in particular, I think of Sirie and Justin each January. While they were fairly new to San Antonio, when I left Holland, I moved to Houston to work with the Air Forces' Space Command Detachment with NASA at the Johnson Space Center. I was on vacation for several days in January 1986, staying with the Blankenship's in their home when the Challenger disaster occurred and I was called back to Houston immediately. While they had gone to work that day, and the boys were in school, I went to a mall in San Antonio. Within and hour or so of the Challengers loss, Justin and Sirie found me (this was years before cell phones, etc.) and ensured I got back to Houston in time, and I am not even certain I ever truly thanked them for the time we shared.

My hope with this story, and those of so many others here, is that Sirie, Timothy, Jeffrey, and their collective families and friends will know what an honorable, well-respected, and kind man this was and just how far his reach was.
