He was born in Balsam Lake, Wisconsin in 1916 and was raised in Buffalo, South Dakota. In June 1938 he graduated from South Dakota School of Mines with the degree of Bachelor of Science in General Engineering. He served in World War II as an engineer officer with the US Army Air Corps in the China-Burma-India Theatre, and later with the US Air Force Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in July 1976. Following World War II, he began a distinguished civil engineering career with the State of California where he retired after 25 years of service. He then served in an engineering capacity with First American Title Co. until his subsequent retirement in 1994 when he and his family moved to San Antonio, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Lou Tiffany Davidson; son, Richard Alan Davidson, both of San Antonio; sister-in-law, Marian Tiffany Daugherty of San Antonio; brother-in-law, James Tiffany of Dallas; nephews, William Daugherty, Tom, Michael, Keith, William Alexander and James Tiffany; nieces, Camille Magness, Roseann McKee, Barbara Bledsoe and Beverly Alexander; 18 grandnieces and nephews; nine great-grandnieces and nephews.
He was loved by all.
