I knew Don, & his family, Virgil & Mrs. Wilson as wellas Dr. Charles. I am sorry to hear of his passing away. I was born in McAllen, TX. also, some of our family used Wilson Funeral Home.

I am so sorry to hear of Don's passing. I will miss him greatly. Don and I worked many services together more than with anyone else, it seemed and became really good friends. I will certainly miss his humorous stories, wittiness and good cooking. My sincerest condolences to his family and many friends. Don, you will always be remembered.

Don was a good man who could always make you smile.

Don, I'm really going to miss you. I know the past few years we didn't talk or see each, but I want you to know that I thought of you often. I will miss your laughter and your sense of humor. Thoughts and Prayers dedicated to a man that has always gone out of his way to try and please and accommodate others before he thought of himself. I know he is 'cooking' and 'catering to' all the angels around him. He was only on loan to us here on Earth, God has bigger plans for him now.

I was privileged to know Don for several years and was able to witness how he touched so many lives with his unbrideld kindness as well as his sincere heart. If any of his friends needed help for anything Don was always there. He would not complain but would, in a way only Don could, make the job enjoyable. I shall miss his big smile that he was always glad to share,his nervous hands that even through their shaking eased pain and applied comfort. But most of all I shall miss his gracious heart. 
 So long Don I'll miss you pal.

I will treasure my memories of Don Wilson for the rest of my life. His many fine qualities come to mind and the image of his smiling face is with me now. His wisdom and wit went hand in hand. The circle of friends he shared should all be comforted by the privilege of knowing such a man - I know I am.

My husband and I had the privilege of meeting a very robust Don about 4 years ago when we were frequent patrons of Wings Bar. We discovered we were all originally from the Valley and had a few mutual friends in common, including Justice of the Peace Dario Garcia, so that gave us plenty to talk about. Don frequently entertained us with stories of the old funeral home days and of course he'd put such a spin on the stories that he would have us in stiches and laughing so hard. In fact Don was always making people laugh. I'll never forget the story about the Toys R Us credit card mix-up. He had such a great sense of humor and Bobby and I were happy to call him our friend. I last saw Don in May 2003 when I called upon him to give me, my mother and sister a ride to the airport. In that short 7 mile drive, he endeared himself to my family and had us laughing all the way. My mother and sister always asked about him after that. I have informed them and Judge Garcia of Don's untimely passing and they are shocked and saddened. I just regret we didn't stay in touch more often and are sad that he died all alone. But he was loved by many, including us and we will never forget him and what a great and terrific guy he was. His talent and love of cooking will also be missed. May he always rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Don. I enjoyed working with him for several years at both Porter Loring Mortuary and Porter Loring Mortuary North. Typically every month or so Don would cook and bring good food for all to enjoy. I always enjoyed and appreciated that. You all are in my thoughts and prayers at this time.

Don had a big heart and was always helping others, his love and friendship was definately genuine. If there is an after life I'd I would definately want to meet him again. See you later Don. Our prayers are with the family and all who knew him. Frances, Brian Soberalski and boys

I met and knew Don through the funeral business. He was a lot of fun and and he was a good man. Vaya con Dios !
