

Donna Jerlene (Bristol) Polly passed away peacefully on Friday, February 20, 2026 while surrounded by family. She was born January 8, 1939 in Campbellton, Texas to Donnie and Lorene (Martin) Brister. She spent her childhood in Devine, Texas and moved to San Antonio after high school to work at Alamo National Bank. She married James Polly on January 6, 1961 and decided to quit work so she could stay home and raise their 3 children. In the early 1980's, Donna went to work in the cafeteria at South San High School and worked her way to Assistant Manager before retiring. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed working in her yard and keeping it beautiful, traveling, bowling, camping and fishing. She bowled for many years with the Eagles Mixed League at Ponderosa Bowl and at Southside/HAcienda Bowl as well. Donna was a great cook. She put her heart and soul into cooking and grilling outside for her family and friends. Everyone said that her BBQ'd fajitas were some of the best around!
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, James Polly; her youngest daughter, Roxanne Bell, and her sister, Addie Lois Hasler. She is survived by her children Pollyanna Vargas and husband Edward of San Antonio, Delbert Polly and his wife Valerie of Choctaw, Oklahoma, her grandchildren Ray Vargas and wife Rebecca, Thomas Vargas and wife Katrina, Michael Vargas, Bradley Bell and wife Nelli, all of San Antonio, and Sean Davis and Audrey, Scott davis and wife Samantha, all of Choctaw, Oklahoma; her great-grandchildren Xavier Vargas, Adisyn Vargas, Daryl Bell, and Ciel Bell of San Antonio, and Landon Davis and Jakub Davis of Choctaw, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her siblings Chestene (Chester) Furr, Betty (Jimmy) Walter, Billy (Cathy) Brister, and Viola (Harold) Shaw and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held Monday, March 2, 2026 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd., San Antonio, Tx 78237 at 9:00 a.m. with a Chapel Service beginning at 10:00 a.m.and a Committal Service to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd., 78226.
