Donnie had a passion for the outdoors and found great pleasure in fishing at the Texas coast and hunting on his ranches.
A proud Union worker, he retired from Asbestos Workers Local Union #87. After retirement, he and his wife traveled throughout the United States.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nora Everette Broughton, father, Robert Edward Carver; and sister (Betty) Jean Feuge.
Donnie is survived by his beloved spouse of 56 years, Shirley Roemer Carver; sons: Robert Frank Carver, Randall Ray Carver and wife, Sandy; grandchildren R.J. and Alexandra Carver; brother, Jerry Kent Carver along with numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 8th beginning at 11:30 AM at Porter Loring on McCullough with a service in the Chapel at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Defense League, 11300 Nacogdoches, San Antonio, TX 78217 or to a charity of one's choice.
