Donnie Jay Stoddard

Donnie Jay Stoddard, aged 44, passed away on July 3, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on May 1, 1980, in San Antonio, Donnie was a beloved local who dedicated his life to his family and his work in the construction and maintenance fields.From an early age, Donnie was a hands-on learner, attending Bowie Elementary, Tafolla middle school and Brackenridge High School. Right after high school, he started working with his Uncle Paul on patio covers before moving on to M-Rand Construction, where he was known as a reliable and skilled worker.Donnie was a jack of all trades with a heart for helping others and a passion for the outdoors.He loved fishing and taking his grandchildren fishing. His mechanical aptitude was evident in his enjoyment of working on lawnmowers and cars, always eager to fix or improve anything he could take apart.He leaves behind a loving family: his mother, Sylvia Stoddard; his father, Donnie Stoddard; his wife, Lorretta Tyre; his sister, Melanie Stoddard; and his grandchildren, Izaiah, Coreena, and Nila Stoddard. Donnie was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Burrel; his grandfather, Urbano Renteria; his great grandmother Benita Renteria; and his aunts, Julie Guest and Jackie Cross.The family will hold a viewing and rosary service to honor Donnie's life on July 7, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary, located at 1101 McCullough Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212. The viewing will commence at 4 p.m. followed by the rosary at 5 p.m.Porter Loring Mortuary is assisting the Stoddard family during this difficult time. Donnie's memory will be cherished by all who knew him as a dedicated family man, a helpful neighbor, and a skilled craftsman.
