She was born in Estherville, Iowa on March 10, 1950.
Doris was involved in family readiness groups, foster parenting, after-school programs, teacher/parent organizations and volunteered for many other organizations in and around her community.
Doris is survived by her husband, Lt Col Sam Tello of Universal City, TX; children, Tori Tello, Joey Tello, Travis Andrew Karns, Jeremy John Karns and wife, Yvonne Sierra; foster daughter, Mercedes Caballero; grandson, Christian Drake Karns; siblings, Vickie Snyder of Estherville, IA, David Harr, Daniel Harr and wife, Karen, all of Emmitsburg, IA, Merna Story and husband, Michael of Sacramento, CA, Gloria Brix and Janice Bettin of Estherville, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lt Col Sam Tello, Travis Andrew Karns, Jeremy John Karns, David Martinez, Jerry Michael Neil and Elliot Gomez.
