Dorothy Irene Chevalier, better known as "DOT", was called home by the Lord on August 28, 2001 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Fallon, NV, January 9, 1939, and was a resident of San Antonio, and most recently Lakehills, TX. Dot retired from Civil Service in 1997 after 30 years Distinguished Service at various civilian and military installations around the world. Her talents and ability to assume control led her to take charge and become known as "the boss" of each office or project to which she was assigned. During her career, she received many awards and decorations. When she retired, she was the Administrative Assistant to the 19th AF Judge Advocate at Randolph AFB, TX. Dot was a life member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha ESA a philanthropic society and served as Texas State President. She was active in the La Societe des Femmes, the auxiliary of the Forty and Eight, a veteran's organization. She had been recently nominated to become a National Vice-President of that organization and was to be formally installed at the national convention next month in Hagerstown, MD. Dot had a captivating ability to brighten a room when she entered. Her love of family and friends was complimented by her consuming love of animals and nature. Dot's love of nature led to her move to the hill country where she could fish and enjoy the birds and deer in their environment. Dot loved to read and enjoyed trips to coastal areas for beach combing in search of that special seashell. Dot recently achieved a lifelong dream of seeing the wonders of Alaska by taking a cruise of Alaska's Inside Passage and shore excursions at Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchican. To fill idle hours in an otherwise endless schedule, she attended training and became a tax preparer. After moving to Lakehills, she and her husband established PDC Enterprises, a successful income tax preparation firm. She was preceded in death by her father, George M. Johnson. She is survived by her mother, Blanche I. Johnson; sister, Judy Brady; husband, Major, USAF, Retired, Paul R. Chevalier Jr.; children, David and Gina Eckhardt, George Eckhardt, John and Christie Eckhardt, René Chevalier, Paul and Sherrie Chevalier; grandchildren, Mitch and James Eckhardt, Grayson and Adam Eckhardt, and Harrison and Judson Chevalier.
