Dorothy H. Dingel passed away peacefully on December 16, 2012, in Dallas, TX, with her family by her side. She was born on March 14, 1919, in Galveston, Texas, to Oscar E. Guldberg and Mary E. McLeaish.
She was the eldest of 5 children with one sister and three brothers.
Dorothy was predeceased by Edward F. Dingel, her husband of 30 years. After working at Fort Sam Houston during WWII, she married and became a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her volunteer work with local hospitals, hospice organizations and Catholic Family Services were important to her. She remained vibrant and active throughout her life and was very popular within her community at Sunrise Assisted Living.
Dorothy is survived by four children: Debra Ann Dingel of Denver, CO; Jim Dingel (Lucy) of Dallas, TX; Cheryn Bordonaro of Denver, CO; and Dyanne Kaz of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren: Grant Dingel, Chanyn Bird, Robert Kaz and Jennifer Tibbit and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved sister and closest friend, Elline Erickson of San Antonio. Dorothy's quick wit and sense of humor will be missed.
