Dorothy Elizabeth Campion Reed

Dorothy Elizabeth Campion Reed was born on January 31, 1916 in Halletsville, TX to Edward James and Mary Elizabeth (Seger) Campion, and passed away on March 27, 2014 in San Antonio, TX. Dorothy graduated from Incarnate Word College as a Registered Nurse. She was widowed at a young age, dedicating her life to her two children, family, friends and career. She loved her many years of service at Santa Rosa Hospital and after retiring, her love of children lead her to work at St. David’s Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Phillip Reed, Jr; sisters, Margaret Lipsitz and husband, Bert, Jo Marie Kidwell and husband, Joe; brother, Lawrence Campion and brother-in-law, Jack Strauss. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Clinton P. Reed, III and wife, Blanche; daughter Mary Elizabeth Sirianni and husband, George; grandchildren, Brother Clinton Reed, Lisa Marie Sirianni Steer and husband, Tyler, Courtney Elizabeth Klueber and husband, Michael; great-grandchildren, Mia Elizabeth Steer, Michael Klueber; sister, Virginia Strauss and sister-in-law, Eleanor Campion and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 31, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 1, 2014 at Oblate School of Theology Chapel, 285 Oblate Dr. San Antonio, TX 78216. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers, will be her nephews, Charles Campion, Bobby Campion, Bernie Campion, Tim Campion, Joe Dudley Kidwell, Patrick Kidwell and Michael Kidwell.
