She was born July 30, 1916, in Irene, Texas, to Joseph and Eva Spence.
Dorothy had a love for education, as she was a teacher and administrator for many years in the Dickinson Independent School District. An inspiration to others, she will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam C. Saunders.
Dorothy is survived by her loving sons, Thomas E. and Samuel S. Saunders; grandchildren, Samantha Lambert, Alexandra, Carla and Luis Saunders.
