Dorothy Leone Schmitz, born Dorothy Leone Budzein, on March 18, 1923 in Waukesha, WI died on September 25, 2010 at the age of 87. She joins her husband of 49 years John F. Schmitz, Col. U.S. Army who died June 26, 1998.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. John P. Schmitz, San Antonio, TX and Dr. Stephen G. Schmitz and wife Sharon, Harker Heights, TX; grandchildren Katie, John A. and wife Sarah, Anne and husband Justin with son Jayden, Catherine with son Jonathan, Laura and husband Quinton with sons Colton and Brody; and sister Sue Potter and husband Donald. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 30 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral Services Friday October 1, 2010 01:00 p.m. Main Post Chapel, Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with the committal service to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
