'Words cannot express the sorrow I am feeling now to hear of Dorris's passing. Dorris and I met in the 60's when we worked on the same floor of the Majestic Building for different insurance companies. I worked for INA Insurance Company and she worked down the hall for the Continental Insurance Company. Albert and my husband Jesse Smith were fellow officers. Dorris and I became close friends. Later, I moved to Houston but would come back to visit on occasion and my son Darin and Valerie would play together. I regret that over the years we sort of lost contact with one another. I have such wonderful memories of Dorris. She had a sparkling personality and was so much fun to be around,a bundle of energy, so lively and animated. I always valued our friendship and am so glad that I dropped by to see Dorris and Albert some years ago when I was in San Antonio. Rest in peace my sweet friend. Albert and Valerie, I am sorry that I will not be able to make the trip to S.A. for the service tomorrow. My prayers are with you.'

'How shocked I was to see Dorris obituary in the paper today. How sad it is, she was one of my favorite people, and to this day I treasure the time that we worked together at Continental Ins. Co. in the 60's. We had many good times together and stayed in touch at Christmas time. Her nickname for me was "Witchie Poo". Both my boys had "Poo" added to their names also, and as I recall, that all was started my M. L. (can't remember his last name).
