Duncan Keys Patrick, 14, passed from this world into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in a tragic accident on July 8, 2024. Duncan was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 22, 2010 to Holly Duncan Patrick and Clay Keys Patrick.
Duncan’s greatest joy was spending time with his siblings and parents in outdoor activities. Whether it was camping in the back yard, fishing, kayaking, or climbing “fourteeners” in Colorado, he most loved being with his family and friends. He was an enthusiastic member of the basketball team for his school, Gloria Deo Academy, but he especially loved playing pick-up games on the driveway with his dad and brothers. He excelled as a left-handed three-point shooter. He was a distance runner for his school and loved playing all sorts of games outside.
An incredible young man with a bright future, Duncan had a dry sense of humor, was very creative, and loved making humorous videos with his cousins. He cherished his friends, many of whom he had grown up with at school and in his neighborhood. He had a tender heart and a desire to help anyone in need.
Duncan trusted in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was later baptized by his father, Clay, at Bergheim Christian Fellowship this year. He loved Jesus, and was not ashamed of his faith, which was evident to all who knew him.
Duncan is survived by his loving parents, Holly and Clay Patrick, and his siblings Caleb, Cove, Sage, and Hope Patrick, his maternal grandparents, Julie and Mark Duncan of Fredericksburg, Texas, and his paternal grandparents, Margie and Rich Patrick, of Katy, Texas. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly, Kyle and Amber Patrick and their children Paige, Keys, Kylie and Summer, Megan Patrick Herne and her children Braeden, Parker and Grayson, and other extended family.
A memorial service for Duncan will be held Wednesday, July 17, at 1:00 p.m. at Bulverde Baptist Church, preceded by a private burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to the Upper Retreat Scholarship Fund at Gloria Deo Academy.
The Patrick family expresses deep appreciation for the kindness and support of family, friends, and their community of believers.
