

Earlene was born on March 21, 1921 in Milburn, Texas, daughter of Earl and Mae Penn. She spent her early years of Texas Ranch Life in Milburn and graduated from Lakeview High School in San Angelo, Texas. During World War II, Earlene built airplanes in California, Taxied B25's in Texas, and later worked with the Atlas Missile Program in Abilene, the IRS in Washington, D.C., and civilian personnel in San Antonio before retiring from civil service in 1986.
She enjoyed tennis, softball, hunting, fishing, camping, and travel. Earlene was a member of Ladies Oriental Shrine, Altrui Court No. 89, Alzafar dance team, GMC Classic Motorhome Club, BAMC volunteer, and an early member of Westhaven Ladies Club.
Earlene was proceeded in death by her husband, Ray W. Baker; parents, Earl and Mae Penn; and brother, Prestle Penn. She is survived by her son, Ray Baker and Vicki of Michigan; grandchildren, David and Rachael Baker-Huynh, and Kenneth and Shellei Rowe of Arkansas; four great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
