

Eddie Gene Roberts was born January 3, 1947. He was the great-great grandson of the Chief of the Muskogee Nation. Affectionately nicknamed “Geno” by his mother. His parents, Yannah Timothy and Grant Roberts both preceded him in death. Grant was of Ugandan ancestry.
Eddie and his mother were cared for by his Uncle Jesse Timothy and the Okmulgee Community. Eddie graduated from Dunbar High School in 1965 with his “Sisters and Brothers”.
At the time of his death, Eddie was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service since 1981. He was on disability since 2008. He became a Taoist later in life.
Eddie leaves to honor his Spirit, his spouse of 40 years, Jacqueline “Diane” Hawkins Roberts; he was Dad to Nejuana Priestly and Jacquita Roberts-Culpepper; Poppi to Shaquita Roberts, Aaron Priestly; Craig, Yannah and Jada Culpepper; Sima Daniel, all of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in -law, Billy Hawkins (Melanie); sister-in-law, Ramona Wesley of Williamston, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and classmates.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 8, 2014 from Lewis Funeral Home; 811 South W.W. White Road from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Wake service will begin at 4:00 P.M.
