Edith H. Estrada

March 23, 1924 - February 25, 2024

Our beloved Estrada Matriarch went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 23rd, 1924, in Brackettville, Texas and within a month of turning 100 years old. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raul C. Estrada Sr., her daughters, Raquel Estrada, Elida Estrada, and Mary Elizabeth Perez, her son, Raul Estrada Jr., grandson, Fernando Perez, son in law, Abelardo Perez; five brothers, two sisters, and her beloved chihuahua, Little Girl. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Olga Estrada, son; Raymond Estrada Sr. (Ofelia), and her daughter; Mary Evelyn Rodriguez (Ignacio), ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was a fantastic cook, baker, and world class tortilla maker. Her Thanksgiving dressing is legendary. We have many memories of tamale making and getting together for family gatherings and holidays. She was a homemaker, worked in the Gebhardt Spice Company, and retired from a job she loved at the Edgewood School District as a lunch lady. She had many fond memories from working for the school. She enjoyed sewing, stitching, she was always there for us in our times of need or for advice. Her love of family held no bounds.
