May 13, 1927 - January 11, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Edmundo V. Guerrero, a man of quiet strength and unwavering love for his family. Edmundo’s greatest passion in life was his children and grandchildren, who brought an undeniable warmth to his soul and a smile to his face. Though a man of few words, his actions and devotion spoke volumes about the depth of his love and commitment to those he cherished most.
Edmundo dedicated 50 years to the automotive industry while also managing rental properties for two decades. After the passing of his beloved wife of 50 years, Eudelia “Lela” Guerrero, Edmundo retired, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, humility, and hard work. Together, Edmundo and Lela built a life filled with love and partnership that remains an inspiration to their family.
Known affectionately as Ed or Eddie, Edmundo proudly served his country as a World War II veteran. His journey through life was one of resilience and richness, starting as a young worker at Lost Valley Ranch in Bandera, Texas, where he served as a golf course groundskeeper and wrangler. Later, he moved to San Antonio, working as a carpenter and machinist. Beyond his work, he was a man who appreciated life’s joys—dancing, singing along to Mariachi music, and delighting in Frank Sinatra’s timeless tune, “Strangers in the Night.” He loved a great celebration and found happiness in being surrounded by those he loved.
Edmundo was a man of incredible humility, honesty, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy endures through the countless memories and love he imparted to his family, who will cherish his presence forever.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Eudelia “Lela” Guerrero, and his parents, Pedro Garcia Guerrero and Jovita Ancira Guerrero. Left to honor his memory are his daughter Elizabeth Guerrero; his sons Edmund Guerrero (wife Delma Guerrero) and Eric Guerrero (wife Anne Guerrero); his grandchildren Evan Guerrero (wife Melissa), Estin Guerrero, Emerson Guerrero, and Easton Guerrero; his great-grandson Maxwell Guerrero; and his sister, Leonela Silvas.
Edmundo lived a full and meaningful life, and while he will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the love he shared and the memories he created with us.
