Edward Nathan Kirkland Jr., aged 81, passed away on 7/08/2024. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Ed was born on 01/15/1943 in San Antonio, where he spent his formative years. He went on to join the US Navy and later became an E9 during his 18 years of service. Throughout his career, he was proud to serve with the Seabees, a specialized naval construction force, and was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.
Above all, Ed was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved spending time with family, enjoying food, sharing stories, and watching their favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced.
In his free time, Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing and pleasing people around him. Ed is survived by his children, Eric, Carl and his wife Heather, Tara and her husband David, Ryan and his wife Ashlee, his three grandchildren, Devon, Ella and Mia, and countless extended family and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Services will be held on 7/26/24 at 11:15 AM, at Ft. Sam Houston, Shelter #3.
