

Born in Connellsville, PA to Colonel Edward Sims Rishebarger and Ora Louise Christner, he started school in Guam, graduating high school in Verdun, France, 1962. He graduated Oregon State University with a BA in 1966.
He served in the Army, attaining rank of Captain and Company Commander of the 538 Transportation Company, in Vietnam.
In 1982, Ed became a full partner at the firm of Deloite Haskins and Sells. In 1985, Ed started the firm of Burnside and Rishebarger PLLP, then merged with Travis Wolff in 2009 and joined the firm of BDO in 2013.
Ed was a Board Member and frequent lecturer of Texas Society CPA, President of the San Antonio Estate Planners, and served on the Tax Institute Committee. For over 15 years, he lectured at St. Mary's University as Professor for a Day.
Ed served as Head of the Gourmet Society of San Antonio, was a patron of the Houston Grand Opera and Austin Lyric Opera, and loved classical music along with all music by Bob Dylan. He was an avid sailor, owning several sailing vessels, and spent 17 days at sea while sailing from San Diego to Hawaii in 2001.
Edward is survived by his wife Patricia; three daughters, Jennifer (Jeff), Marnie (John), and Christine; three stepsons, Paul (Jamie), Michael (Crystal), Brian (Takae); grandchildren, Raeleigh, Peighton, future granddaughter, Katherine, Avery, Aidan, Jackson, Helena, Lily, Alyssa; friend and mother of daughters, Katherine.
