SSgt Edward Lozano Salas, U.S. Army National Guard, Ret., went to be with the Lord on December 23, 2016 at the age of 81. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcelino and Catarina Salas; sisters, Josephina Rocha and Olivia Riojas; brothers, Apolinar Salas, Roman Salas and Antonio Salas. He is survived by his former spouse, Alejandra Zepeda; children; Sonya Bonenberger (Alfred), Gilbert Salas (Juliet), Yolanda Montez (Reyes Crispin) and Christina Salas (Tabatha Hansen); grandchildren, Celina Garcia (Winston), Brian Bonenberger (Melissa), Alfred Bonenberger Jr., Erik Bonenberger, Alejandro Salas, Eduardo Salas, Stephanie Miranda (Alfredo) and Iris Hansen-Salas; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Salas Sr.; sister-in-law, Guadalupe Salas; also, numerous nieces and nephews. The Visitation will be held at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2017 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. The Procession will depart from the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. for an 11:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. John Berchmans’ Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
