Edward Larry Vishnevetsky

Edward Vishnevetsky (July 8, 1981 – June 20, 2016) died tragically just short of his 35th birthday while white-water rafting in Costa Rica. Although he died too young, we take solace in knowing that he was doing what he loved, with the person he loved. Ed was full of life and laughter. He had a big laugh and loved to share jokes and anecdotes with friends. He was an international adventurer, and could captivate a room with his storytelling and piano playing. Above all, his gift was the genuine, irresistible charm that won him friends everywhere he went.

Professionally, Ed was extremely committed to his work as a health care lawyer. He was Of Counsel at K&L Gates, heading up their Texas healthcare practice, and has been the recipient of numerous legal awards. Edward genuinely loved his profession and worked tirelessly on behalf of his clients. He graduated from Health Careers High School in San Antonio, received a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Texas at Austin, and a J.D. and Master's in Health Administration summa cum laude from St. Louis University.

Edward was a great friend to many, a beloved brother and son, and an adoring uncle. He was preceded in death by his mother, Irina Vishnevetsky, and grandmother, Khava Gurevich. He is survived by his father Leonid Vishnevetsky, sister Marina Vishnevetsky Grayson, brother-in-law Matthew Grayson, nephew/nieces Adam, Iris, and Liana Grayson, stepmother Marina Tverye, stepbrothers Aaron and Elliott Tverye, girlfriend Jaycee Greenblatt, and his beloved puppy Afi.

Edward's favorite place in the world was Greene Family Camp, where he spent years as a camper and counselor. Just weeks before his death, Ed set up a scholarship fund for campers who need financial assistance to attend camp. His star shone brightly and was dimmed much too soon.
