

Elio was an El Paso resident and was born August 19, 1935 in Rock Springs, Texas.
He graduated from San Jose State University and joined the Air Force as a distinguished officer. After a professional career in the technical industry he founded Diversified Technical Services DTSI. The company has been highly successful and has served the Department of Defense and federal customers throughout the world for over 29 years. During this time he had the honor of being invited and serving on the 49th Security Forum at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama.His family will remember him forever for his great smile, quick sense of humor, amazing storytelling gift and love of life, travel and of course golf.
We will always cherish what he taught us about life, his generosity, leadership and mentorship and the love he shared with all of us.
Elio is preceded in death by his parents, Dolores and Vicente; brothers, Pete and Guadalupe Turrubiate; and his fist wife Isabel.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Suzie Castauela of El Paso, Texas; children, La Donna Castauela and partner David Stalker of Austin, Texas; Zina Castauela of Chicago, Illinois; Ava Castauela and husband Robert Erdman Jr. of Silver Spring, Maryland; Elio Castauela, Jr. and partner Kim Ostler of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Elio Castauela, III; stepdaughters, Barbara A. Arriaga of Austin, Texas; Elizabeth Arriaga and fianc Patrick Croas of El Paso, Texas; sister, Mil T. Zamora of San Jose, California; brother, Alex Castauela and wife Frances of Clear Lake, California; 60 nieces and nephews; and extended family in El Paso, San Antonio and San Jose, California.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to University Hospital, Dr Riley, Dr. Luis Velez and Dr. Charles Nolan, and of El Paso, Dr. Alfonso Chavez and the dialysis staff.
