Elizabeth Garner Douglass, age 78, a home maker, passed away March 19, 2004 after complications from surgery. Elizabeth was born November 10, 1925 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. She attended East Central State Teachers College, Oklahoma A&M, University of Oklahoma,
and was a graduate of Texas State College for Women, Denton, Texas in 1946 with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts Degrees. She was a life member of Texas Women's University National Alumnae Association. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her life centered around her beloved husband, her three sons, her grandchildren, her extended family, her church and many treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Richard Douglass, her parents, Virginia and Hamilton Garner, her husband's parents J. J. and Sarah Douglass and her brother-in-law Hansell York.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 56 years, John Ed Douglass; her sons, Dr. John H. Douglass and his wife Eileen, Michael Douglass and his wife Susan, daughter in-law, Carol Douglass of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sisters, Joanne York of Baytown, TX, Nancy Rudderow of Grapevine, TX and numerous nephews and nieces.
