Born September 7, 1916, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, she was educated in Wyoming and received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wyoming, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She met her husband of sixty-four years, Willard Henry Findling while he was stationed at Fort Warren in Cheyenne during the Second World War. They were married there, and after the war, lived in Indiana before finally making it "home" to Texas and San Antonio in 1947, where they raised two daughters, Dianne and Jane.
Betty, as she was affectionately known, was a gracious lady who loved her family and friends. The only thing as important to her as making her husband happy was entertaining.
She is survived by her husband Willard Findling; daughter Dianne and husband Carlos Reategui of Lima, Peru; daughter Jane and husband Emmette Burton of San Antonio; grandchildren Carlos, Michael, Carmen, Mark, James and great grandson Gaetano.
The family wishes to thank those who were especially important to Betty in later life: Hilda Rodriguez her caregiver; the staff of VITAS; and the staff at Kingsley Place at Oakwell Farms.
In lieu of flowers, you may make contributions in the name of Elizabeth Erwin Findling to the UTSA General Scholarship Fund, c/o Development Office, UTSA, One UTSA Circle, San Antonio, Texas 78249.
