Elizabeth D. Tangney, age 83, of San Antonio, died Monday, May 15, 2006. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Leon Segraves, parents, two brothers, Robert and William and one sister, Dahlia Turner.
Survivors: husband, Robert Tangney; daughters, Betty Susan Ward, Kathryn Arlene Miller and husband, Fernando, all of San Antonio, Linda Faye O'Neal and husband, Jerry, Hot Springs, AR; granddaughter, Ashley Beth Stuart; grandson, Philip Ethan Ward; sisters, Mary Kirschke, Baltimore, MD, Ramona DeVeau and Rebecca Dillon, both of Florida.
Having lived in San Antonio for thirty years, she held leadership positions in various organizations. She found success in the Council of Presidents, of the Woman's Club of San Antonio. Her flower arrangements during Fiesta Week were frequent award winners. One of her greatest joys was to be active in the Order of the Daughters of the King.
Her steadfast belief in God's love never wavered although her life was beset by illness and heartache. Her generosity, charm and enthusiasm remained constant and she was surrounded by her children and their love as she left this world.
