Elroy is survived by his loving children Katie, Carson, and Ella; parents Elroy and Shirley Friesenhahn; brother and sister-in-law, Matthew and Laurie Friesenhahn; nephews, Bryson and Corbyn Friesenhahn; grandmother, Kathleen Hempel; aunts, Merlie Hempel, and Beverly Downs; soulmate Joanne Scheall and daughters Marion, Evelyn and Joslyn.
Elroy was a devoted, loving son, brother, and father to his three children. If asked, Elroy would say his greatest accomplishment was being a father. Family was of the utmost importance to him even in his final days. Elroy cherished family gatherings and holidays. He also enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. For 24 years, Elroy was a dedicated educator and coach committed to making the youth better versions of themselves. In his free time, Elroy enjoyed watching sporting events, especially Texas Longhorn football and baseball games. Elroy believed in living life to the fullest every day. Heaven has gained a special person who will continue to watch over family and friends for all eternity.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
