I just found out about the passing of Elton, and I want to give you my heartfelt condolences. Elton was truly one of the finest gentleman I ever knew, and it was a privilege to have golfed with him and considered both of you to be wonderful friends. I always enjoyed the company and the super bowl parties, and although I left Sonterra 1o years ago, I always thought of both of you during super bowl week, and on the golf course. I am now living in Florida, with my wife of the last 9 years. God bless you Jeff

What a fun man to have had as a principal. I will always remember the time that my mother and "Mr. Churchill" argued over why the cheerleaders / dance team could wear such short skirts but we weren't allowed to wear short to school. Elton was a man who 'walked the talk'. He was an outstanding NEISD educator who took special interested in all students, faculty and patrons. He was foremost a teacher always coaching students, faculty and other school administrators. He was a "Champion for Children" and students were always his first priority. Above all he was a dedicated family man and loving husband and father. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carol and the family.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Churchill always had a smile and something kind to say every single time I saw him. He will be missed.

Mr. Churchill was my High School history teacher in New Braunfels. Later he was my children's principal at Churchill High School. I adored his friendly personality and zest for life. My deepest sympathy to his family.

Elton was such a fine man and a treasured friend. His passing is a stunning event to us and brings back memories of days coaching together an evenings spent playing cards and laughing. He was a great competitor and always had a kind word for everyone--even after beating you at something. We didn't see much of each other in later years but still miss him. So sorry for your loss Carol.

Thoughts and prayers to the Churchill family. He was a wonderful man and I am glad I was a student at WC (Class of 89) while he was principal. He will be missed.

I'm very sorry to hear of Mr. Churchill's passing. He was a great man, and went out of his way to know his students while he was the Principal at Churchill High School. He and his wife Carol also went out of their way to befriend my mother and her father at Sonterra and shared many special moments with them. He was a very giving man, and always went out of his way to make everyone's life he touched mean something. He will be missed. Carol and the rest of the family, may you be comforted during this difficult time.

It was my priviledge and honor to work with Elton as administrators at Churchill High School for approximately 10-11 years. Elton was one of the "good guys". Our principal, Gerald Evettsput together a good team. We worked well together, had great fun and relished in some of the best years of Churchill High School creating everlasting memories. Our successes were phenomenal. Elton and Carol are "good people" and I am very proud to have known them both. Carolyn and I extend our deepest sympathy to Carol and her family. May Elton rest in peace! He was a fine man.

Elton - it was his SMILE that drew everyone to him. When i would see he and Carol in the 19th Hole or come up to him on the golf course - he would turn and smile at me - and to be honest it always made me feel extremely special. Elton had a way of making everyone feel special. He and Carol hosted new Members at their Club, inviting them to dinners, brunches, golf games and special events - each time creating a new friend growing his extended family. My heart aches - but i feel honored that our Lord blessed me with being able to spend a small part of my life with Elton. Kathryn

Elton hired me at Churchill High school in 1991. He changed my professional career forever. A sweet wonderful man who will always be remembered for how he enhanced the learning of others.

I just heard about Elton this morning and am devastated. I like everyone who knew and loved him will miss this wonderful, kind, caring person who always tried to be there, to help, guide and just listen...I think he must have given of himself to all of his friends and especially his family. "Unkin" was the very best uncle a kid could have. We laughed, we played and we hugged. My family is so very thankful God gave him to us. He taught us how to love life each and every day. He brought light and goodness every where he went. There are so very many memories that we will treasure always. Aunt Carol, Pam, David, Todd, Julie - we love you very much. Heaven has a new angel who is playing golf today.

Mr. Churchill was my high school principal. I had the privilege of being a student aide my senior year in the main office. He always had a smile and kind words to say. He was admired by all those that knew him. He will be greatly missed.

I will really miss you Elton. Your smiling face and those great big hugs were the best. You were my all time favorite member at Sonterra and it will never be the same with out you. I especially cherish the time we recently spent at the Valero Texas Open getting to visit and have lunch together. This was the day before your very first trip to Augusta National to the Masters! It was wonderful to share in your excitement. Everyone and I do mean everyone, just loved you. Saturday there was not enough kleenex to go around the club. God Bless you always and thank you for making me a better person by just knowing you.

Mr. Churchill was also my first principal when I moved back to Texas. He was awesome, supportive and a very caring person. He will truly be missed.

Elton was a true friend, educator and a model gentleman. He never stopped teaching me even when it went from a formal education to how to navigate the Club at Sonterra. I really loved that man...even when he would regularly beat me in golf. God Bless Elton. We are all better people since we had him on our lives.
