

Emerlinda was a woman of faith always praying for her family's well being. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and a friend to many. She was a strong and courageous woman who was dedicated to her family and her job. She was a woman with integrity. Her favorite pastime was shopping. She was always "dressed to the nines" for any event she attended. She also loved to listen to music and learned to use her Google Nest Hub and was always requesting to listen to Vicente Fernandez and Ramon Ayala. Emerlinda was a parishioner of St. Clare Catholic Church for over 60 years. She worked for South San Antonio ISD as a cafeteria worker for 27 years and attended Willy Cortez Senior Center where she made many friends. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Genaro Lugo, Sr and Nestora Lugo; husband, Eliseo A. Garcia; siblings, Francisa Alaquinez, Benita de los Santos, Romana Hernandez, Bernave Lugo, Genaro Lugo Jr., Consuelo Lugo, and Guadalupe Gutierrez; son, Jesse L. Garcia and grandson, Jay Juan Garcia.
She is survived by her children, Teresa Arredondo (Reynaldo), Eliseo Garcia Jr. (Olivia), Richard Garcia (Rosario), Lydia L. Garcia, brother, Miguel Lugo; 6 grandchildren, Reynaldo Arredondo Jr., Raymundo Arredondo, Sarah Sanchez, Richard Garcia Jr., Erica G. Rodriguez; and 7 great grandchildren, Arylenna Arredondo, Emmah Rae Arredondo, Emersyn Arredondo, Madelyn J. Sanchez, Evan Sanchez. Richard Anthony Garcia, and Brooklyn Garcia.
A visitation will take place Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd San Antonio, Texas, from 5:00 pm to 9:00pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at St. Clare Catholic Church at 12:30 pm followed by interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
