Mr. Scott was not only a member of the Balcones Energy Library for 10 years but dedicated enough to also have served as a director and officer on our Board for 4 of these years. We wish he could have seen what we've done to the "ol' place" in the past 6 months. Owen will be sadly missed, but always remembered. Your loss is felt through us all.

Twenty plus years ago, Scotty became my friend and co-worker. Beneath his quiet manner was a man of impeccable character, a loyal friend, an unselfish co-worker, and a dedicated teacher. He lived in the present and the future -- everyday was important to him. He acknowledged problems but saw them as challenges and an opportunity for learning and doing good. Scotty loved his family. One could not be around him for more than a few minutes that he did not express his love and devotion to his "beautiful Dusty" or his children and grandchildren. I will miss his wonderful smile and his hugs but I am happy that he fulfilled what the Lord had planned for him here on earth and that his spirit is now in the presence of God and reunited with his "beautiful Dusty". There are few people who inspire other by simply being themselves -- Scotty was one of those people. I am so thankful for having known him and he will retain a special place in my heart forever.

Scotty was always the same, a firm handshake,a smile and "how in the world are you". He will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. So long to a great guy.

I was very sorry to hear about Scotty. He was a very good person and will be sorely missed in the oil business and as a friend.

Social status and money were not important to him, but people were. Of all the individuals I've known, he stood out as a rare jewel among men - he will be sorely missed. If only there were more upright, straight shooting, kind and considerate men like Scotty, whose word was his bond, who believed in doing the right thing at all times, it would truly be heaven on earth.

i knew scotty from the landman meetings and from running into him at various county courthouses where were running title about 20 years ago-- he greeted everyone with a big grin and a warm handshake and was sincerely interested in what i was up to--he will be greatly missed

My deepest sympathy in your time of sorrow.

I have missed seeing Scotty since he moved away. He was such a good neighbor. He used to take walks early in the morning, and especially if the weather was bad he would pick up the paper and put it up at my door so I would not have to go out in the rain. I think he did this for a number of us widows and we came to depend on it. He was such a fine man, and I miss Dusty as well.

My mother was Marion Scott. Bud was always very very nice to her. He would take her out to dinner occasionally and helped her with some business deals. After he and Dusty were married she did some baby sitting with their children. I talked with Bud recently when his uncle, Walter Scott, died. He did seem to remember me. I remember him as always kind, interesting, fun and laughing.
