Engracia (Grace) Ayala Rangel, 91 born on April 16, 1927 went home to our Lord and Father on September 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her husband Eugenio Rangel, son Gene Rangel, parents Francisco and Anita Rojas Ayala and six siblings Katarina, Jose, Juan, Jesus Ayala, Francis Martinez, Cuca Gomez. She is survived by her son Pete Rangel (Herlinda), daughters Mary Ann Garcia (Louis), Christina Chagoya (Mike) seven grandchildren Peter, Loraine, Matthew, Valerie, Joshua, Jason, Justin, seven great-grandchildren, siblings Maria Ayala, Castul Ayala and Reyna Quiroga. She was born in Comal TX and raised in the Selma area. At one time she lived in the Longhorn Quarry Cement Community. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Helena Catholic Church. She worked at Eisenhower Road Baptist Church for over 30 years as a teacher’s aide greeting children as they arrived. Sundays were known as Taco Sundays, she would make breakfast tacos for all of her family. This was her way of bring the family together to share in food and conversation. Her passion was working on her lawn and caring for her many plants. At 91 she still mowed her lawn and did so on the day of her passing. She left this earth knowing that her lawn was taken care of. Although she left us suddenly we take comfort in knowing this is how she wanted to go. We know that God answered her prayers.
Thank you Mom for your unconditional love, guidance and unselfish commitment to our family. We will miss you and may you rest in peace until we meet again. Thank you God for blessing her with so many healthy years.
