

After a long battle with COPD, Enrique M Gracia passed away peacefully on June, 28, 2014 at Regent Care Center, San Antonio, Tx. Born on July 11, 1929 to Dolores and Concepcion Gracia, Enrique quit school after the sixth grade to help support the family.
On February 1949, Enrique took a job at San Martin Winery. It was there that he learned the art of wine making. He worked in every aspect of the wine process, from crushing of the grapes to filtering the wine for bottling. The job required Enrique to work not only long hours, but also seven days a week. In 1994 the winery closed its doors and it was then that Enrique, after 45 years of service, retired.
Enrique played fast pitch softball for 18 years. Playing on various teams within the Gilroy, Ca. area and in great demand, for his smoothness as a shortstop. He eventually suffered an ankle injury that ended his baseball career. It was later in his life that he took up the game of golf. He had a passion for the game and was always willing to help those who were taking it up for the first time.
He leaves behind his wife Annie of 66 years and nine children: Henry Gracia, Jr, Sylvia Blas, Rosie Sanchez, Kathy Gomez, Tony Gracia, Annette Cleveland, Mike Gracia, Lorraine Soto and Alfred Gracia. He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
