Ernesto G. Beckford Sr., age 54, was called home to be with the lord on Saturday, January 16, 2016. He was born on April 29, 1961 in Gamboa, Panama to Edgar & Dorothy Beckford who both preceded him in death. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle who will be dearly missed.
Ernesto is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gisela and their two children, Keshia and her husband David as well as Ernesto Jr. and Fiancee Tonya. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, David and Iya Simmons, nine brothers and sisters, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Ernesto retired from the U.S. Army after 21 years of services and later worked 8 years in Department of Defense civil service in Zama, Japan.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at noon, Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Sunset Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
