Esmeralda Gonzales

Esmeralda was born on September 16, 1960, to Concepcion Salazar Gonzales and Jesse Paiz Gonzales. She was a daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose compassion, strength, and unwavering devotion to family left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

She is Preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Maria de los Angeles Almendarez; and nephew, Jacob Edward Harting. Esmeralda is survived her sisters, Janet Grace De Leon (Larry), Hope Harrell (Bridget), Amanda Marie Smith (Dennis), Sandra Gonzales Alsobrook, Veronica Gonzales (Kenneth Hernandez); brother-in-law, Fred Almendarez; nieces and nephews, Jacqueline Leonor Almendarez, Jesse Ray John De Leon (Lupita), Connie Marie De Leon, Raven Evette Smith, (Rosalinda Rodriguez), Erika Denise Smith (Ryan Michael Firmin), Crystal Ann Smith (Javier Gaitan), Jonathan Derrick Gonzales (Jamie), Alex Aaron Alsobrook, Kenneth Jeremy Hernandez, Jenny Lynn Hernandez (Alfredo Pena Cisnero, II), and Chelsea Jolie Hernandez (Andrew Diaz); great-nieces and great-nephews, Destiny Angel Marie De la Rosa (Cristian Jamison Casas), Aria Sky Castillo (Ryan Angel Davila), Zoey Kamille Castillo, MariJane De Leon, Raylina Grace De Leon, Jesse Timothy De Leon, Emery Navarro, Elijah Ray Draven Ewing, Adrian Jesus Lora, Tristan Lee Gage Smith, Aaliyah Rayne Laurel Smith, Champion Dion Bouldin, Alice Violet Chollman, Arianna Mackenzie Sinnett, Primus Maximus Uriah Gaitan, Mikaela Janelle Sinnett, Leila Ava Gonzales, Lexi Nevaeh Gonzales, Emery Richter, Alfredo Pena Cisnero III, and Atlas Jack Cisnero.

Esmeralda’s love extended far beyond immediate family. She was the heart of many family gatherings, a constant source of support, and a beautiful soul who found joy in lifting others. Her memory will continue to live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared with her family and friends.

A Memorial Service to honor Esmeralda’s life will take place on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. in her home, 2110 SanLuis Street, San Antonio Texas.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Esmeralda will never be gone from our hearts. Her light continues to shine through the lives she touched.
