Esperanza Serna DeVilbiss, age 79, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Esperanza was born in Laredo, Texas to Virginia Riojas and Antonio Serna, being one of thirteen siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Gayle DeVilbiss jr.
Esperanza is survived as a beloved mother to San Juanita "YaYa" DeVilbiss Martinez {Mark Soto}Lupita "Chalup" DeVilbiss Saucedo {Ruben De Los Santos} grandmother to Samantha R {Chris} Eric M (Stephanie) and John D Martinez Ruben G De Los Santos,
great -grandmother to Ethan , Jordan, Lauren, Mason, Emma ,Joshua, and Johnny .
Esperanza was a devoted hard worker for Polly Lopez, home health care agency in Crystal city as a CNA where she retired, She was very loved by all her coworkers and patients. She’ left behind many great memories .
She will truly be missed
A visitation for Esperanza will be held at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home in San Antonio, Texas 78218 on Thursday, October 12th, 2023 from 5pm to 8pm. A Funeral service will take place Friday, October 13th, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home with a committal service to follow at Oak Island Cemetery, 2970 DeVilbiss Ln, San Antonio, Texas 78264 at 12pm.
