Esther loved to shop, especially for hats to match every outfit. She was a member of St. John Berchman's Catholic Church.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Albert F. De La Zerda; her son, Joseph E. C. Martin; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Joseph Martin, Jr., Bruce Martin, Suzanne Martin, Michelle Lemon; brother-in-law, James De La Zerda, Sr.; sister-in-law, Margaret Hawkins; nieces and nephews and friends.
Her family members wishes to express their deepest appreciation for the compassionate care provided to Esther De La Zerda by the staff of Evercare Hospice of San Antonio and in particular to Alicia Hysaw, RN.
A special thanks to Dr. Paul and Ms. Blanca Garcia and Michael Hutson for their care.
