

Etta Pauline Manuel, age 88, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on July 4, 1936, in Matagorda, Texas, to parents, Thelma Keeland Henderson and Peyton Howell Henderson. She was an active member of Cornerstone Church. She was known to everyone as Pauline and widely considered one of the most generous people they had ever met. She was always eager to help others, welcome them into her home, and make them feel comfortable with lots of good cooking, love, and storytelling. She had a passion for plants, flowers, and birds, especially cardinals and hummers, and in her later-life, most enjoyed spending time on the porch surrounded by nature, a good cup of coffee and hearty conversations. Her love and devotion to Jesus Christ filled her life with purpose and usefulness. Sharing the word with family and friends filled her with joy, and she was an active member of Cornerstone Church.
Pauline was preceded in death by, her parents; her beloved husband, Robert James Manuel; and siblings, Kitty, Mary Ellen, Peyton “Buddy” and James.
She is survived by her six children: Kathy Jameson, Kitty Pohler (Mark), Kimberly Pearson (CJ), Keelan Manuel (Jerry), Kabrini Manuel, Kelly Manuel (Jesús), and her loyal and loving companion Laura Flores; her 11 grandchildren: Joshua Ortiz, Desiree Ortiz, Cody Pohler (Emily), Tyler Pohler, Kitty Pearson, Cora Vaughn (Alan), Nichole Mesic (Chris), Stephanie Anderson (Will), Elizabeth Perry, Aza Perry, and Jesús Rodriguez; her six great-grandchildren: Joel, Isaiah, Teresa, Alyssa, Bellie, and Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Cornerstone Church, 18755 Stone Oak Pkwy, San Antonio, Texas, 78258. Pastor Boots Levine will officiate.
