Eugene George Venable

Mr. Venable was a proud veteran that honorably served and retired from the United States Air Force as a Lt. Colonel. Eugene was also a college graduate earning a Ph.D. He had a passion for service which he was stationed 3 years in England and 5 years in Japan. Eugene was also an archivist at the military museum at Fort Sam Houston; and also taught history for many years at the San Antonio Community Colleges. Eugene was also a volunteer teacher at the Academy of Learning & Retirement. Eugene loved life and enjoyed animals and is remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is preceded in death by his parents James and Marie Venable. Eugene is survived by his son Marc Francis Venable; brother James Venable and wife Barbara Venable.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church on 102 Lorenz Rd., San Antonio, Texas 78209. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
