Eulalia (LaLa) V. Cantu passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Dec. 6, 2013, at the age of 78. She is preceded in death by her father, Demecio Villanueva, mother Concepcion V. Villanueva, brothers Camilo and Pablo Villanueva. She is loved and will be missed by her husband of 59 years Ascencion Cantu, daughter Mary Louise Garcia and son-in-law Hector Garcia, son Gustavo Cantu and wife Mary Ann Cantu, son Raul Cantu, daughter Irene Gutierrez and son-in-law Roger Gutierrez, son Victor Cantu and wife Maria Cantu, sister Isabel Salas, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She loved to cook “Did You Eat?” and she loved her Spurs but most of all she loved her family. She was a firm believer in serving others before self, especially when it came to her family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2013, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at St. Ann Catholic Church, 210 St. Ann Street. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II .
