On March 30th, 2017, Eva C. Gonzales entered into rest with our Lord and joined her husband Antonio M. Gonzales, whom shared 50 years of marriage. Mrs. Gonzales was born in San Antonio Texas on December 4th 1925 to Anacleto and Casiana Cervera. She proudly, but
briefly, attended Lanier High School. She was a committed and respected member of the Madonna Neighborhood Center for over 20 years. She was later invited and honorably represented her senior peers as a board member for over 2 years. It is here she enjoyed her
days developing new and lasting friendships, engaging in her hobby of painting ceramics, helping in the kitchen, and calling out the weekly BINGO. She wishes to thank Executive Director, Mr. Roger Caballero and staff for all their love, support, and assistance. Although petite in stature, Mrs. Gonzales personality towered as tall as her favorite basketball team players, the San Antonio Spurs. She was a great influence to family and friends alike who
will deeply miss her sense of humor, enduring strength, and classy elegance. She leaves behind voluminous cherished memories and inspirations.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Aurora Vega, Margarita Pais, and Esther Suavia, brother Adam Cervera, and nephew, Jesse Aleman whom she loved like a son. She is survived by her brothers Raul and Ramiro Cervera, Sister Florence Luna, daughters,
Sylvia Polanco and Debra Gonzales, grandchildren, Robert Barba III (wife Laura), Jason Polanco, Priscilla A. B. Escobedo (husband Xavier), Jennifer Garcia (husband Carlos), Roman Kirk Villarreal, great grandchildren, Robert Raven Barba IV, Manny Matos, Carlos Hiram 2nd,
Ariana Toni, Analicia Mya Garcia, Logann Eva Escobedo, and Roman Dante Villarreal. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Mark Riddoch and staff at SAPDM for the many years of care. We would also like to thank the staff and nurses of River City Hospice for
helping us through her final journey of life. “Eres la gema que Dios convirtiera en mujer para bien de mi vida”
