Eva Velasco Russ, age 72, went to be in the arms of her Lord on Monday, February 5, 2018. She was born to parents, Francisca and Pedro Vara Velasco. She graduated from South San Antonio I.S.D. and received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland. Eva was a life-member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and 6 brothers and sisters.
Eva is survived by her husband, D. Paul Russ; son, Michael Garcia; daughter, Lisa Garcia; daughter, Judith Garcia Johnson (A.J.); grandchildren, Geneva Garcia, Alexandra Johnson, Devan Johnson; great grandchildren, Jocelyn Alvarez and Milena Garcia; siblings, Paul Velasco, Lupe Velasco, and Isabel Velasco Duncan.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
