Evelynn Ackermann, 90, passed away peacefully at home on December 16th, 2016. She was born to parents Robert and Ida (Classen) Fredrick on December 9th, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas. She was married to David Ackermann on December 11, 1946 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas. Evelynn and David enjoyed dancing to German and Czech polka dances and festival. They also enjoyed bowling, gardening and ranching together.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ackermann. She is survived by two daughters, Nell Hutzler-Rivera and her husband, Joe Rivera of Spring Branch, TX and Barbara Jean Ackermann of San Antonio, TX; five grandchildren, Debra, Mel Jr, Justin, Julius, and Jurgen, and father of grandchildren Melvin Hutzler, Sr.; along with 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces. Will love and miss her dearly. May she rest in peace.
The visitation will be on Tuesday, December 20th at 11:00 am at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX with a Funeral Service at 12:00 pm in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
