

Frank graduated high school in 1964 and soon thereafter was drafted into the United States Army in February of 1966. He fought in the Vietnam War, was promoted to Sergeant, and was awarded numerous medals and honors for meritorious service. He was extremely proud of his service to his country.
Frank built on his experience and training in the military into a career in the telecommunications industry working for 37 years for Southwestern Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technology and Avaya before retirement.
He served his community being active in youth coaching and participating in various booster clubs supporting whatever activities his children took part in. In addition, he was a member of the Lion’s Club in McAllen, Texas where he served as Vice President. He was especially proud of his time facilitating the attendance of disabled children to the Lion’s Club Camp in Kerrville, Texas.
Frank was an avid hunter. He had an immense passion for hunting and spent over 20 years on a lease with his friends and sons in the hill country. Above all, his family brought him the greatest amount of joy. He especially loved to get together to BBQ, always sharing fun stories and a little wisdom along the way. Frank was always positive, energetic, and loved to dance. He was an incredible husband, father, brother, uncle, friend, and grandpa.
Frank is preceded in death and is now reunited with his mother and father, Facundo and Maria Garcia, his sister Berta Escamilla, and nephew, Vincent Garcia.
Frank is survived by his beloved family; his devoted wife of 47 years, Aminta Hale Garcia; six children (spouse), Alfonso (Lisa) Robalin, Edward (Melissa) Garcia, Facundo Ray (Angela) Garcia, Jessica (Federico) Galvan, Robert Garcia, and Richard (Kaci) Garcia; ten grandchildren, Elijah Garcia, Alleya Garcia, Devin Pockrus, Max Robalin, Hayden Pockrus, Samantha Galvan, Diego Galvan, Sienna Garcia, Atticus Vieira, and Lenny Garcia; siblings and in-laws; Mando Escamilla, Gloria (Ceasar) Cuellar, Agustin (Janie) Garcia, Santiago “Jimmy” (Elva) Garcia, and Graciela (Raymundo) Gonzalez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Frank will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. Services are as follows: Viewing, 5:00 to 7:00pm, followed by the Holy Rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 21, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr., San Antonio, TX 78232, with a reception to follow.
At a later date, Frank will be laid to rest with full military honors at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
