Fanna Lou Smith passed away Sunday, October 13, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 85. She was born on June 25, 1928 in Caddo, Oklahoma to Elzie Lee Hunter, Sr. and Velma Elizabeth Adkins. She graduated from Aransas Pass High School in 1946. She was an artist and enjoyed painting, making a variety of crafts, gardening, and collecting art glass.
She was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Elzie Lee Hunter, Jr. and an infant daughter, Sherrie Ann Smith. She is survived by the love-of-her-life and partner in marriage of 67 years, Marvin Arthur Smith, Sr.; her son, Marvin A. Smith, Jr.; her daughter, Donna Lynn Martin; and granddaughters Aleisha Mowles, Karen Spence (husband David), and Natalie Mowles.
A graveside service will be held at 10:45 am on Friday, October 18, at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX with a reception to follow at Bethany United Methodist Church, 4102 Eisenhauer Road, San Antonio, TX.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the church, charity or non-profit or your choice.
