

His education began in the Harlandale School District and he later graduated from St. Mary's University followed by a Master's Degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. Mr. Tyson then began teaching at Adams Elementary and later became principal there.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and was very involved in the choir and Bell Choir.
In 1958, he began the San Antonio Lutheran Charity Coronation. He wrote, designed, produced and directed the first Coronation and was instrumental in each Coronation afterwards; through his involvement he touched the lives of numerous youth and their families.
He designed robes for the 1953 Order of the Alamo Fiesta Court, as well as, festivals in Tampa Bay, FL, Floresville, TX, Luling, TX and Poteet, TX.
He is preceded in death by his father, Francis Clifton Tyson and mother, Hilda Zimmerle Tyson. Mr. Tyson is survived by his son, Dr. Farrell Clifton Tyson II and wife, Michele; grandchildren, Pierce and Holland Tyson all of Fort Myers, FL; cousin, Donald Frederick Zimmerle of Dallas, TX; extended family who were very dear to him, Rene Velasco of San Antonio, TX; Basel Alqarqaz and wife, Inam of Dallas, TX; Ayman J. Allee and wife, Laura of San Antonio, TX; numerous other cousins; and caregiver, Grace Rodriguez.
Mr. Tyson will lie in state beginning Friday morning, April 7, 2006 at 7:30 and a visitation with family and friends Friday evening from 5:00 to 8:00.
