Federico Cardenas

Federico D. Cardenas, age 72, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 in San Antonio. He was born on June 30, 1949 in San Antonio, to Arnulfo and Olga Cardenas. He attended St. Leos Catholic School and La Salle High School. In 1996, he graduated from Angelo State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Fred served honorably three branches of the military, the Marines in 1966, the AirForce in 1976 and the Army in 1981, retiring in 1998. In April 1990, Fred married the love of his life Irma Longoria and had a beautiful love story for almost 32 years. Fred enjoyed explaining family lineage and telling family stories to his children and grandchildren. He was devoted to his wife and praised the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. His greatest accomplishment was his family.He was preceded in death by his father, Arnulfo G. Cardenas; mother, Olga D. Cardenas; brother,Arnulfo D. Cardenas and sister, Olga C. Vasquez. Federico is survived by his wife, Irma L. Cardenas; son, Caesar G. Cardenas (Anabell); daughter, Bonnique Dominguez (Jose); daughter, Karla Simpson (Richard); daughter, Irma Casarez (Elias); grandchildren: Logan and Austin Cardenas of Wenatchee, WA; Anthony and Alexander Pantoja of Stockton, CA; Kelley, Aidan and Keegan Simpson of Las Vegas, NV; Elijah and Xavier Casarez of New Braunfels, TX; brother, Pedro D. Cardenas (Irma) of San Antonio, TX; sister, Beatrice Robles (Ruben)of Houston, TX and sister, Leticia Cantu (Jesse) of San Antonio, TX. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Porter Loring North Mortuary.
