Felicitas "Feliz" Rodriguez Flores

Felicitas “Feliz” Rodriguez Flores, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother entered God’s heavenly kingdom on January 18, 2012 at the age of 84. The youngest of 8 children, Felicitas was born on March 6, 1927 to Juan M. and Petra Rodriguez in San Antonio, TX. Felicitas was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Feliberto C. Flores; and son, Feliberto R. Flores, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Valeria Lopez and husband Jose; son, John R. Flores and wife Debbie; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Known as “Grandma Mom”, or simply “Mom”, she was both to family and friends alike. Her caring manner was known by everyone and her advice was often given with supporting “dichos” for life lessons. Her generosity was endless and she would give herself to anyone needing a hand. With a home of plentiful food, comfort, and listening ear, her house was home to many; and no celebration or holiday was complete without a visit. She loved singing and dancing with friends and family. But children were most special to her. She always knew how to make them happy, whether by song, poem, or play. She was a shining example of how a person’s life is measured by the amount of love given and the number of lives touched. The family offers many thanks to the staff at both The Heights on Huebner Assisted Living facility and Odyssey House. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Monday January 30, 2012 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, and a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 to conduct a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2114 W. Houston St; Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
