He graduated from Harlandale High School in 1965. He received his undergraduate degree and Master's degree in physics from Southwest Texas State.
He was a lifetime educator who loved to teach. He taught at Harlandale School District as well as San Antonio and Palo Alto colleges. He had a knack for helping his students understand complicated subjects.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty Jean Rohler, and his children Silver Long, Eve Rohler and his only son Abraham Rohler. He also is survived by sisters Rose Bormann and Mary Rohler and his only brother James Rohler, as well as his grandchildren Emma and Madison Long and two nephews and his niece and two great nephews and two great nieces. He is also survived by his loving step sons Louis Wayne Correa and Jimmy Vaca and grandsons Kyle Correa and Dustin and Aaron Vaca.
