She was a graduate of Sudan High School and then went on to Texas Tech University where she majored in Interior Design. She and her adoring husband had a passion for traveling. They have been all over the world and they have passed their passion on to their family. She loved golf and playing cards at the San Antonio Country Club.
The love she had for her family was pure and unconditional. On any given day she could be found at lunch with her family at Twin Sisters or the Cheesecake Factory at North Star Mall. Nanny was known for her generous heart.
Her greatest joy was her husband and family. You could always count on her for anything and everything...you name it and she had your back. She was full of surprises whether it be for her family, friends, or someone she just met. Her greatest gift was the gift of unconditional love.
She loved having family and friends over to the home she shared with her husband for wonderful parties, family dinners, and swimming. She never met a stranger. She was pure joy, the love of my Pop's life!! Her advice was always good, firm, and fair. You knew she would be honest. She was her family's biggest cheerleader, fan, and a source of constant support.
She helped to found the local affiliation of National Public Radio with countless hours of volunteer work. She was an active member of the Battle of Flowers Association, Ladies Golf Association at the San Antonio Country Club, and tireless volunteer for the Valero Texas Open for 30 years. Her favorite charity was St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
