Although we only saw Uncle Frannie a handful of times over the years, every memory I have of my Dad's baby brother is that he was the sweetest, kindest, most gentle and loving man.  When we saw him he always had a twinkle in his eyes and he remembered each one of us kids like no time had gone by at all.  We're so proud to call him our Uncle and proud of his service to his country.  We'll miss you Uncle Frannie and we're so thankful to call you family.  Until we meet again.

So very sorry for Uncle Frannies  passing. He was much loved by all of us in Illinois. We never got to see any of you often enough but we do have some very good memories.  I know your sorrow and pain right now but just know we think of all of you often. You had a fantastic father. God bless.

I will always remember how loving and caring Van was & how welcoming he was to my son & his cousins. Always buying snacks for them just like a grandpa would do. I'll always remember that smile he would give and the wave. He will be greatly missed!

Sorry to hear of vans passing. Daddy (Donald cross) wanted me to let anyone who is still with us know he was sorry to hear of this. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear about Uncle Fran.  What a great, gentle man with an infectious smile. I will cherish my memories when we were kids, and we would travel to Colorado for a visit. So much fun!!  He will always have a special place in my heart. May he rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Frannie's passing. I will alway cherish and remember the times he made the trips back to Illinois to see all of his family. We always looked forward to those rare times that he would make the long journey. He was such a quiet man with kind eyes and a warm smile. I thought of him often and will continue to. I'll keep you all in my prayers and thoughts as you continue to go through this painful journey. Lots of love and hugs from Illinois as I am unable to make it down for his funeral. Sorry I won't get to spend time with both of you and your families. Uncle Frannie will be missed.

Roland and I were shocked to hear of Van's passing. He was a very quiet man with a great smile. My Parents lived behind Van and they were great friends. We will miss his coming by and waving on his way to get tacos. God's speed. (119)
